It’s not easy to find someone. We must face all kinds of fears: fear of choosing the wrong partner, fear of being rejected, fear of intimacy and the fear of commitment. Unfortunately, some Christians use “God” to hide these fears.

Whether voluntarily or unconsciously, some Christians use a spiritual speech to justify their celibacy. Behind the beautiful rhetoric sometimes hides a fear that should be overcome, such as the fear of intimacy.

Some Christians say that they are waiting for God to find them a partner. Indeed, we must depend on God for our relationships, but sometimes these beautiful words hide multiple fears. Those of making a bad choice, or the fear of being rejected.

Some people say that they are waiting on God to present them their husband or wife to be. They use this as a very spiritual attitude to explain why they are still single. But often this attitude hides little monsters that should be taken down!

Prayer is essential to a single person. Not the babbling of lifeless litanies, but a heart to heart talk with God. If prayer doesn’t bring you peace and assurance for your future relationship, maybe you are not praying the right way.
