“Open the eyes of my heart…”, says the popular song by Paul Baloche. And we sing it at the top of our lungs. But do we make it a prayer? We can be so distracted by the mundane that we forget about eternity.

Sometimes we feel compelled to respond to an offense against us by inflicting the same offense on the person who gave it to us. We want to “make them pay”. This form of resentment only sows poison in our relationships.

How much time do any of us have left in this life? When is it finally time to do what you know you are supposed to do? How long are we going to make God wait before we start working with Him on the plan He prepared for us?

We sing beautiful songs to our God, telling Him that we surrender ourselves to Him, that He is our King. But on a daily basis, is He really our God or just one source among many others?

It’s easy to get distracted by our desires and dreams, or even by conflicts and problems. Besides, there is nothing wrong with working at these earthly things, but on the condition that you have first pursued God, daily.
