Series 2 Session 3 The danger of being single

Then here are some questions to discuss:

  1. There are advantages to being single. Can you name a few?

  2. But sometimes these benefits bring us into a kind of comfort. Do you find it difficult to get out of your comfort zone? What do you find most difficult about getting out of your comfort zone? (Does this comfort increase with age, is it more difficult to get out of our comfort as we age?)

  3. It is obvious that we are going to have to break this comfort to meet a future partner. What can you do to encourage yourself to step out of this comfort?

  4. The Lord also calls us to come out of our comfort zone to serve him. Can you share with me an experience where you had to step out of your comfort zone to serve God?

  5. Following Christ also means making sacrifices. Like we’re going to have to do when we’re a couple. What kinds of sacrifices has God ever asked you to make to do His will? Was it very difficult?

  6. Making sacrifices to serve someone we love is difficult but rewarding. But Christ even asks us to make sacrifices for our enemies! Are you able to do this? How do you motivate yourself to do this?

  7. Sometimes we don’t want to sacrifice too much for others, because we don’t want others to abuse our kindness. How can we serve others without others taking advantage of our time, money, service, etc.?

  8. On the other hand, some people give way too much to others. They don’t know how to say no. How can I change this? And why is it important to change this?

  9. During confinement, what can we do to serve others? And if you are not confined right now, what do you feel inspired to do to serve others?

Many single people have met their partners while setting out for God.

Some prayer points to conclude:
