Series 6 Session 7 The power of thankfulness

Then here are some questions to discuss: Read Luke 17:11 to 19. In this story, how many lepers were healed? (10) How many were saved? (only 1!) What did this Samaritan do differently? (He was grateful - v.17-19) How can gratitude (i.e. thanking God) help us to keep the faith? How to thank God when we are in the middle of a storm? A good way to show gratitude is by showing others what God has done.

Series 6 Session 6 Too busy to love

Then here are some questions to discuss: Technology is there to help us be more efficient in our work, to help us save time. But you, personally, does technology allow you to have more time to rest, or does technology occupy you even more? Read Luke 10:38-42. What does this story teach you about managing your time? When we think about managing our time well, we must first establish our priorities.

A grief that purifies

Whether it is the loss of a loved one or the failure of a relationship, or a project, we all go through times of grief or disappointment. But as hurtful as it can be, grief can also cleanse our hearts.

Series 6 Session 5 When God says no

Then here are some questions to discuss: Read Matthew 21:22. We love verses like these very much. But do these verses mean that we can ask God for anything and He will give it to us? When parents answer “no” to their children’s requests (like to have a small dog!), the children are often very angry. Why? Do we change as we age? Are you offended when someone (your boss for example) responds negatively to your request?
