Merry Christmas!

As you prepare to celebrate Christmas, take a short break to remember the true meaning of this day. It could change your expectations, and thereby, ensure your smile!

According to how the media portrays Christmas we should have a nice dinner, where gifts abound and where lovers kiss under the mistletoe. But when we’re single, our Christmas may not match this idyllic image. This could leave us sad, disappointed and even a little depressed.

Others associate Christmas with family, the tireless kids who run and play all evening while parents chit chat about past memories, glasses in hand. When we are single, with or without children, this could also leave us with a bitter taste.

All these Christmas ideas are nice but they do not represent the real reason to celebrate. Christmas is the birth of our Savior. We were separated from God, condemned and hopeless, then Christ left the comfort of His paradise to take a human form and give us salvation. He chose to live like us, which allows Him to totally sympathize with all our sufferings and sorrows. He opened a path for us to have eternal life; a life filled with joy, peace, and health. Starting now, here on Earth.

When you are mindful of the true meaning of Christmas, no one needs to feel excluded. Our social status does not matter. All can rejoice. This is what the Passion374 team wishes you : a day of rejoicing! For when we are children of God, we have every reason in the world to celebrate!

Oh, and if you fear the dreaded family questions about your celibacy, read our article from last week: you’ll be well equipped to avoid any uncomfortable conversations.
